Founder
Vivek Raj
Vivek is an exploration geophysicist and independent researcher. He holds a Dual Degree from IIT Kharagpur in Exploration Geophysics, with breadth in Petroleum Engineering, and has worked across industry and research, from borehole acoustics and well services to geothermal exploration, planetary science and applied research.
His work spans geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, remote sensing and GIS, and machine learning. He has applied multi-geophysical methods to real field data, and the physics-informed methods he builds are tested against measurements rather than synthetic models alone.
PDIL grew out of a simple observation: the people who plan the well and the people who image the subsurface rarely share a model, and uncertainty is lost in the handover.

How we work
Three principles behind the platform.
Uncertainty is part of the answer
A model without a stated range invites false confidence. We report ranges, and we show which data would narrow them most.
Physics first
Machine learning is used where it helps and constrained by the physics of the measurement, so results can be explained to a geoscientist and to a well engineer.
The analyst stays in control
Our pipelines run in stages and pause for confirmation, so each step is reviewed before the next one begins.
Based in Celle
At home in a drilling technology region.
Celle is a long-standing centre of drilling and subsurface technology in Germany. We work from here with clients and research partners across Europe, in English, with documents in German on request.
